No rhythm notation needed: the space between notes is the rhythm. Each beat is the same width, so a note twice as far from the next one lasts twice as long. Notes ring until the next note on the same string.

How to play F Blues on guitar

The fretboard above shows F Blues across all 24 frets. Its root, F, is on the low E string at the 1st fret, and Position 1 starts there. Use the Shape menu to see the 5 positions one at a time, press Play to hear the one you're looking at, and switch the labels to intervals to see where the root, 3rd and 5th sit in each shape.

Learn one position until you can play it up and down without looking, then learn the next one along and practise moving between the two. Before long the whole neck joins up.

What chords does F Blues work over?

Use it over an F blues, over F7 and Fm7 chords and in F minor rock. Treat the b5 as a passing note on the way to the 4th or 5th rather than somewhere to stop.

What it sounds like and when to use it

The blues scale is the minor pentatonic with one extra note, the b5, often called the blue note. That note gives it a gritty, bluesy tension that resolves nicely back to the 4th or the 5th.
