Mixolydian is the major scale with a flat 7th. It's the sound of dominant 7th chords, so it's everywhere in blues, rock, funk and country.
Use it over Bb7 chords and over a I to bVII vamp. Mixing it with the Bb minor pentatonic over a Bb7 chord is a great way to sound bluesy without losing the major feel.
